The apartment is located in the Oltrarno district in Florence.  The name “Oltrarno” literally means “beyond the Arno” and this district which stretches along the south bank of the river represents a different facet of Florence to that which is found near the Duomo. The Oltrarno perhaps displays the true character of Florence and in general is slightly quieter, greener andmore relaxed than the other districts of Florence. Indeed many tourists tend to choose the Oltrarno for this reason. Traditionally an artisans’ quarter, the Oltrarno still boasts today many lovely antique shops and artisans’ studios (particularly furniture and leather-workers) and Via Maggio remains the focus of Florence’s thriving antiques trade.

Over time the Oltrarno became a rather chic area and many aristocrats chose this neighbourhood to build their villas and palaces, the largest of these being the Pitti Palace, which became the home of the various Grand Dukes. Today this sumptuous palace houses several important museums which rank amongst the best in Florence. Other major sights the Oltrarno has to offer are the Cappella Brancacci with the fabulous frescoes of Masaccio, Piazzale Michelangelo with its breath-taking views over Florence, the magnificent church of San Miniato, (one of the highest points in the city of Florence and also one of the best examples of Romanesque architecture within Tuscany) together with the most famous and oldest bridge in Florence, Ponte Vecchio, home to a glittering array of jewellery shops and goldsmiths.

Extending up the hill from the Pitti Palace are the formal Boboli Gardens, an outdoor museum of garden sculpture that includes Roman antiquities as well as 16th and 17th century works. The Oltrarno is famous for its wine barssuch as Olio & Convivium, authentic trattorias serving typical Tuscan cuisine, including Il Santo Bevitore, I 4 Leoni and Il Magazzino, not to mention the wonderful fresh produce market held every morning in Piazza Santo Spirito. For those choosing an apartment in this area, the Oltrarno quarter also offers a choice of grocery stores, patisseries, bakeries, gift shops and much more.

This a magical partment located on the first floor of a beautiful historic building inside one of the most prestigious and noble palaces of Florence’s historical center. The amazing palace was built around 1470 following a design attributed to the famous Renaissance architect Baccio d'Agnolo and presents a majestic courtyard, three sides with arcades, adorned with statues. There is a doorman present in the building from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 1pm, and from 2 to 6pm.

The luxury property is totally one of kind. Entirely frescoed with paintings dating back to the eighteenth century, it retains its original terracotta flooring from the 500’s and boasts 4 bedrooms in antique style. Measuring 4,400 square FEET, the apartment can accommodate up to 7 people and has 5 bathrooms.

Guests can enjoy the 3 spacious double bedrooms each with ensuite bathroom and a small single bedroom, also with ensuite bathroom. The bedrooms are as follows: the master bedroom with double bed is completely painted and has an ensuite bathroom with spa bath. A twin bedroom in the loft just down the corridor from the master bedroom. This open space has a frescoed ceiling, two comfortable beds (they cannot be put together) and an ensuite bathroom with bath. The third bedroom is also a twin (the room was decorated with columns) and has a two comfortable beds (they cannot be joined) and two different ensuite bathrooms, one with wooden shower and the other with a bathtub. The small single room (more suited to a young man or child) because there is not much space due to the room being narrow and wardrobe occupying part of the space). Nevertheless the bedroom has ensuite bathroom with shower.

The apartment boasts wonderful communal areas consisting of a living room with majestic tapestry, a second sitting room and a further living room frescoed with corner bar, a large dining room with extendable table to seat for up to 12 people, a fully equipped kitchen, a cloakroom / ironing room, a bathroom for staff and a double bedroom. Guests will find all the comforts they need and the amazing accompanying décor features antique furniture, fine fabrics, tapestries and fine carpets and objects’ d'art. The apartment is equipped with air conditioning in each room (mobile unit in the master bedroom), TV in the bedrooms (except in the bedroom in the loft) and Wi-Fi internet connection. Maid service is included 2 hours per day Monday to Friday.
