Bastide Haute and its pretty gray colored shutters faces South with all the grandeur and handsomeness of its rank. From its cellars to its loft it displays great unity in colors, from the lovely light beams of its ceilings to the pale ivory and light beige of its stone floors.  It shows its character in the way it makes a statement amongst the scenery, with a lot of seduction as well as a hint of arrogance!

Nothing will unsettle its peace, not even the slight background sound of a ring road that is a witness to the inevitable modern world.

Built on top of a softly rolling hill a long time ago, this charming Bastide typical of the Aix-en- Provence countryside architecture, dominates, in all its recently renovated splendour, green, generous and colourful scenery.

The renovation has been a complete success and the house, through friendly hands, has regained its former liveliness, warmth and cheerfulness.

With family or friends you will spend some blissful time in surroundings both elegant and comfortable under the watchful gaze of the welcoming and protective centuries old cypresses that surround it.

The mythical & lively town of Aix-en-Provence is not very far away and will delight you with all its possibilities. Young adults in search of happy times and partying opportunities will not be disappointed!

Ground floor: An elegant entrance hall pleasantly furnished with a majestic stone staircase and a sumptuous elaborate wrought iron banister swirling towards the top two floors.  A cloakroom and guest toilets

From the entrance you can reach the very comfortable T.V. lounge with 1 sofa and arm chairs, the kitchen and laundry room which is also a pantry with the boiler and the washing machine and dryer.

The kitchen is a long space and opens onto the terrace. It is a very well organised and appointed room, large enough for meals to be taken there. Some pretty paintings on the wall and a “country-chic” decoration.

There is a large wood and metal table, a brand gas cooker, a fire place with BBQ close to the cooker, two ovens, one of them electric, microwave oven, Bosch brand dishwasher, beige marble twin bowl sink, electric coffee maker, Nespresso machine with capsules supplied locally.

The living quarters unfold in succession from the kitchen : there is a small office communicating with the TV room, a spacious lounge with a fireplace decorated in pleasantly harmonious colours, restrained and  elegant contemporary furniture in light tones and a dining room that can accommodate numerous guests and opens out to the Westside of the house and the vineyards.

These reception rooms are open plan, airy and wonderfully light, but above all comfortable and welcoming. They all open out through French windows on the front of the house onto a large gravelled terrace decorated with plants and facing south. On either side of the terrace deck chairs have been arranged under giant Micocouliers trees (Hackberry tree), thus creating outdoor sitting areas with different atmospheres. At the bottom end of this terrace, you get down some dry stone stairs to reach down below a large grassed area featuring the swimming pool.

On the first floor:

A prettily decorated and furnished landing marks the entrance to this floor. Opposite are separate toilets.

On the left hand side:  One double bedroom with 1,60m bed (twin beds linked together) with a faded pink “Toile de Jouy” typical “boutis” style bedspread. This room has three windows: one to the front of the house overlooking the terrace to the south and the other two opening to the west with a view of the gates and the long drive bordered by cypresses. There is an en suite shower room in dark orange colours with a pretty wash hand basin set in a wooden cabinet. The decoration is harmonious with tawny curtains.

In the centre: One double bedroom with 1.60m bed ( twin beds linked together) covered in flowery red on a beige background “boutis”, red curtains, two windows overlooking the terrace to the south and en suite bathroom with  shower à l’Italienne, hand wash basin in a pretty wooden cabinet andwc. Tints of  purple for the bathroom and beige and red for the bedroom. Charming and harmonious decoration

At the end of the corridor and a little out of the way from the rest of the house, passed a lovely red Kilim rug laid on the bare stones and slatted cupboard doors is the Master bedroom with 1.60m bed ( twin beds linked together) covered with a striped aqua green bedspread. The en suite bathroom has a provençale shower, twin wash hand basin and toilet. This is a lovely room with romantic decoration in tones of pastel blue, stucco finished walls and French style period decoration on the ceiling. The bathroom in tones of gray and white is spacious and very comfortable.

The furniture is refined and feminine and the overall feel of the room is of harmony and serenity.

Let us take get back to the lovely stairs to reach the next floor whilst discovering some of the interesting art on the walls!

On the second floor:

On the landing to the left there is a small bedroom that can be used as occasional sleeping for children.

Slightly to the right and up a few steps you get to separate toilets.

On the left hand side: One double bedroom with 1.60m bed (twin beds linked together), a window opens out onto the south terrace. Curtains are a very fresh and cheerful striped red fabric. On one side two further windows offer stunning views of the area and the Pinchinats hill just opposite, on the other side of the old road leading to the Alps, that you can just about make out trough the trees. Large en-suite shower in shades of beige and natural tones, with a wash hand basin in a wooden cabinet.  The lot is separated from the sleeping area by slatted shutters used as a screen

Further along in the corridor there is a large bedroom with single beds and a wash hand basin. There are two windows, one to the west and one facing the back of the house. The decoration is cheerful and bright.

At the end of the corridor, reached by a few steps, there are two double bedrooms (twin beds linked together) facing each other. They both have a wash hand basin. One of the rooms has two windows overlooking the southern terrace and the other one a window to the south and a window to the west with views over the vineyard close to the property.
